We live in turbulent times, don’t we? We watch the news and it’s unsettling, to say the least. We always tend toward instability. How so? If we link our stability and emotional stability to the economy, we live on a roller coaster. If our stability depends on how many people like our most recent status update on social media, we’re set up for periodic bouts of depression. If I link my security to my health and longevity, I’m in for a shock, since I will inevitably decline and die. The landscape of life seems unstable in many different spheres.
